The Lake District has never failed to inspire me so I took a week up there to get out of my studio and embrace the nature and landscape around me. Staying in a converted barn in the Newlands Valley, I was constantly surrounded by hundreds of species of birds including swallows and various different wagtails. The flashes of yellow were so bright and mesmerising that I just had to but one down on paper.
